Sleep Talking
Darling, I am floating away
On the ocean of my mind.
Where land is only legend
Or a wisp of hope in the wind.
I may not remember you tomorrow—
Perhaps I am hoping that I won’t.
There is much to occupy here
While the rest fades away.
I probably won’t see you when I see you,
But you know all about that.
I never know when to leave a party
Except in private.
I will be gone when you wake up,
And I am not going anywhere.
